A Note from the Principal

Hi Everyone

The past week or so has been extremely busy with Open Homes and Private Inspections almost daily between our northside and southside properties.

Two new listings last week in Carina and Carindale with more to come.

COVID-19 has certainly changed the way we all do business as well changing personal relationships with so many having family interstate and overseas. Except for the few who believe they are above the law, Queenslanders have reacted well to the restrictions placed upon us by all levels of Government.

It is a chance for us all to invest in our home state, not just in real estate but by supporting local businesses and tourism spots. There are wonderful places to visit not far from home.

The one thing that has become apparent is the need to BUY LOCAL – check the products. Are they Australian made/manufactured? Are they grown in Australia? Is the company or business Australian owned? It is surprising when you check these things out – we have become complacent about our own produce and manufacturing.

Overall we have one of the best health systems in the world and we should be very thankful for the dedicated health professionals. police and military that are working tirelessly to look after us all … and they do it with a smile!

As agents we have certain rules that have been put in place by the Office of Fair Trading to protect the safety of sellers and buyers. We are required to keep the names, addresses and contact numbers of those at Open Homes and Private Inspections for 56 days. We also have sanitisers on hand.

Contracts can all be done online. Virtual tours are also available on request but there is nothing like actually seeing and “feeling” a property.

More solicitors are signing up to PEXA which is a way settlements can also be done virtually.

Is it the time to sell? We have had an increase in buyer activity in the past month so if you are thinking of selling it could be a good time to put your home on the market.

On a sad note for the MVRE Team, after over a decade of working together Lynda is going to retire. It will be a big change but she will still be in the backgound for a while to look after current clients and listings on the northside. She still has a passion for real estate and helping people move onto the next part of their life’s journey but as she will be turning 70 next year she wants to spend more time with her family and friends. COVID-19 has made so many people look at their lifestyle and realise what they want to do. Exploring Queensland is first on Lynda’s list with a new caravan to tow!

If you would like to Buy or Sell, please just ring Mel!
